Why this track exists:
I’ve worked the same job for well over 10 years now. To get to that job every day, I walk into Glasgow city centre in the early hours of the morning. I’ve seen it all. Drunk stragglers at the end of a night out (often young and vulnerable), all kinds of antisocial behaviour, plenty of dodgy characters, police tape, fights, drug use, sex acts. Even death.
That death wasn’t connected to or caused by any of these things. It was someone sleeping rough. I think about it often. I still walk past the doorway every morning. It’s not something that sits with me well.
It’s not much but, being a dumb white guy with a guitar and very few skills, this is my best crack at doing something about it.
Pay what you want. All proceeds from this track will go to Homeless Project Scotland.
